The Heart of America Men’s Chorus (HOAMC) is a chorus located in Wichita, Kansas.  It was founded in the fall of 2002 when five men met and decided to form a men’s choral organization.  Their goal was to perform for the joy of singing and to demonstrate a strong commitment to community involvement by contributing to other charitable organizations in Wichita. From that meeting an organizational structure began to take shape, as well as the planning of the first concert to be held during the Christmas season. The first rehearsals began with sixteen men. With a successful first season and membership growth to thirty-two, weekly rehearsals were moved to Plymouth Congregational Church where they are still held today.  The chorus has a three concert season which runs from September 1 to August 31 with concerts in December, March or April and then June or July.  Each concert has two performances, Saturday evening at 7pm and Sunday afternoon at 4pm. Performances are currently held at the historic Wichita Orpheum theater.

The chorus was founded on the principle of providing quality choral entertainment and giving back to the Wichita community at large.  HOAMC is a unique arts group in Wichita for that very reason; their dedication to giving to other not-for-profits in the city and surrounding areas.
